This graphic is one of my favorites. I served as the art director and motion graphics designer for this project. The designer I worked with did a fantastic job taking direction and landing on this beautiful graphic. Initially, the heart contained the full word “self(ish)” but it wasn’t quite capturing the intent of the series. The focus of this series was to show how proper self care equips you to break away from yourself and serve others. Having the “(ish)” bursting out from the side of the heart struck the right narrative chord.
The bumper is fairly simple in its design and aesthetic, but animating the ending with the explosion is still one of my favorite things I’ve created.
